The Light of the Milky Way

The very dark skies at the Somuncura Plateau, Rio Negro. Showing part of the Milky Way and the Magellan clouds over "La Azul" lagoon.

Taken on a moonless night it was so dark you couldn't see a hand in front of your face.

The brownish reflection at the lagoon is the opposite part of the milky way that was at my back. The landscape is lit by the Milky Way and the stars only!

Mis felicitaciones desde Galicia, España. Tienes una galeria absolutamente impresionante. Envidio tus cielos oscuros, aqui no hay un lugar que permita unas fotos como esta.

I love your photographs! You are in such a perfect location to get some magnificent photos of the southern hemisphere.

Congratulations on being selected for an APOD (which is how I found your website).
