Good Bye Lovejoy!

The great comet of 2011 Lovejoy started its escape from the solar system, each day the comet faded a little while it moved towards the south galactic pole.

In January the 7th it became circumpolar to my location, I went to take some last shots on January 14th, the comet was just next to the Large Magellan Cloud with its tail extending to Canopus.

It wasn't visible to the naked eye but the camera did a good job.

Now the comet is moving towards the constellation Reticulum and fading as it sails away from our Solar system into deep space.
